Our story
Started with a marketer printing menus.
We started qrthatworksafter watching a friend ship her restaurant's weekly menu. She had a beautiful printed flyer — and a QR code in the corner that nobody could scan, because the existing generator she used had baked margins, low contrast, and pixelated edges.
The existing QR tools were either bloated dashboards trying to be marketing platforms, or rough free tools that watermarked your codes or tracked every scan. None of them just rendered a clean, high-contrast, exportable code.
So we built one that was both fast and calm. Paste your content, tweak the colors, and download a sharp PNG or SVG in under a second — wrapped in an interface you can use without watching a tutorial.
Today, creators and teams from 40+ countries use qrthatworksevery week. We're still small, still independent, and still answer every email ourselves.

Principles
What we care about.
The four things we hold ourselves to, in order of importance.
01
Quality first
Every QR code renders with standards-compliant, scanner-tested output. We test against the cameras you actually use — modern iPhones, mid-range Androids, and entry-level webcams.
02
Privacy by design
We store the bare minimum we need to render a code and let you re-download it for 7 days. We never log who scanned what, and we never sell your data.
03
Speed obsessed
A QR code should feel instant — both to render and to download. Live preview updates as you type, with sub-200ms render times even for vCard payloads.
04
Real support
You email us, a real human emails back within one business day. No chatbots, no ticket queues, no off-shore call centres.
How we make money
Customers, not investors.
We don't take VC money and we don't sell ads. qrthatworks is funded entirely by paying customers buying credit packs through transparent one-time pricing. That means our incentives line up with yours: we win when your codes scan, not when you scroll longer.
Try it in 30 seconds.
Sign up free, paste a URL, and get a sharp QR code. That's the whole demo.
