Guiding Principle
Use the Service to shorten URLs you own, control, or have a legitimate reason to share. Do not use the Service to harm anyone, deceive others, infringe rights, or break the law.
Prohibited Destinations
You may not shorten links that point to or are used to promote:
- Child sexual abuse material or sexualised content of minors.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery or “deepfake” pornography.
- Terrorism, organised violence, or self-harm.
- Hate speech, slurs, or content that incites violence against a protected class.
- Defamation, harassment, doxing, or stalking.
- Phishing pages, credential harvesters, or sites that impersonate a real brand or public figure.
- Malware, viruses, drive-by downloads, browser exploits, or unwanted-software installers.
- Pirated or otherwise infringing copies of copyrighted media.
- Content prohibited by applicable law in your jurisdiction or ours.
Commercial & Marketing Misuse
You may not use the Service to:
- Hide the destination of unsolicited bulk email, SMS, or DMs (spam).
- Promote prohibited or restricted goods (e.g. weapons regulated by export controls, unauthorised pharmaceuticals, counterfeit currency or goods).
- Run pump-and-dump, “get rich quick”, or pyramid-style schemes.
- Cloak affiliate or tracking parameters in a way that deceives recipients about who they are giving money or data to.
We expect commercial uses of the Service to follow the marketing and advertising rules of the jurisdictions you operate in, and the policies of any platform you publish to.
Technical Misuse
You may not:
- Interfere with, disrupt, or overload our infrastructure.
- Bypass rate limits, captchas, or authentication.
- Use automated tooling, scrapers, or bots to access the Service except via a documented API and within published quotas.
- Attempt to enumerate slugs or scrape destination URLs.
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written consent.
Intellectual Property
You are responsible for ensuring that the destination of any link you shorten does not infringe third-party rights. If you shorten a link to content owned by a brand, creator, or platform without permission, we may disable the link.
We respond to valid takedown notices under applicable copyright law. Please send notices to support@qrthatworks.comwith the subject line “Copyright Notice” and include the offending short link.
Enforcement
If we believe you have violated this policy, we may:
- Disable or delete the offending short link immediately.
- Suspend or terminate your account.
- Withhold unused credits if the violation is material.
- Report the matter to law-enforcement authorities where required by law.
Where the violation is unintentional and minor, we will normally warn you first and give you an opportunity to fix the issue.
